Assessment conditions

Skills must be demonstrated:

  • over a period including at least 120 hours of work within at least one approved education and care service

Realistic in depth industry validated scenarios and simulations are to be used to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge in addition to that which can be assessed in an individual workplace. This is to ensure assessment occurs across a broader range of contexts than one workplace can provide or when some of the situations to be assessed are unpredictable or occur only rarely.

Assessment must ensure use of:

  • evacuation plans

  • health and safety procedures and policies, including food handling, travel and medication administration
